Mental Health & Mood Stabilization

RX Required Specialist prescriber oversight

Medicines used to support depression, bipolar disorder and other mood-related conditions are prescription-only and must be initiated and monitored by a UK-registered prescriber. Medishop UK works within that clinical pathway, ensuring every supply is checked by a pharmacist and aligned with your prescriber’s plan.

✔ A valid UK prescription is required for all mental health & mood medicines ✔ Treatment is usually part of a wider care plan (therapy, lifestyle, reviews) ✔ Every order is clinically checked by a pharmacist before supply

Depression & Low Mood

Prescription medicines may be used to treat moderate to severe depression when a clinician judges they are appropriate, usually alongside psychological and lifestyle support.

Bipolar & Mood Stabilization

Certain medicines are prescribed to help stabilise mood over time, reduce the risk of relapse and support long-term management of bipolar and related conditions.

Ongoing Review & Safety

Many mental health medicines require regular check-ins to review response, side-effects, physical health and any interactions with other medicines or substances.

How to request mental health & mood medicines (RX)

  1. Speak with your GP, psychiatrist or another UK-registered prescriber about your symptoms.
  2. If they issue a prescription, ask for it to be sent to Medishop UK or obtain a copy you can share with us.
  3. Upload your prescription securely using our RX upload form, or follow the instructions from our support team.
  4. Our pharmacist will clinically check your prescription, confirm availability and pricing, then agree delivery details with you before dispensing.

All supply follows your prescriber’s directions and the pharmacist’s professional judgement, including any limits on strength, quantity and duration.

Mental health medicines can affect mood, sleep, appetite, energy and concentration, and some may initially increase anxiety or restlessness. Never stop or change your dose without speaking to your prescriber. If you experience thoughts of self-harm or suicide, sudden behaviour changes, severe agitation, chest pain, breathing difficulties, seizures or collapse, seek urgent help. In an emergency, call 999 or attend your nearest A&E immediately.
